*For Fair Association Scholarship
The Scholarship Committee will award at least 1 (one) $500 scholarship to an incoming college freshman and at least 1 (one) $500 scholarship to a full time college student in their 2nd thru 4th year of post-secondary education. The number (and monetary amount) awarded will be determined by the donations secured for the Vanderburgh County Fair Scholarship fund. Applicants for these scholarships must exhibit involvement in the Vanderburgh County Fair. You may only receive a scholarship once per category as an incoming college freshman and a college student in their 2nd through 4th year of college. (Exception: in the 2nd through 4th year of college category, recipients may receive a scholarship more than once if there are no other applicants).
The candidate should complete the accompanying application and compose the required essay. The candidate must also submit a copy of their official letter of acceptance from their school, or a copy of your next semester’s class schedule.
Yes, the scholarship selection committee will review the applications and will determine who should be invited for an interview. The interview will be used as the final process to award the scholarships.
The submission deadline is June 30th. The interviews will be scheduled in the beginning to middle of July. The recipients will be required to attend the Vanderburgh County Fair Opening Ceremony for the public announcement and awarding of the Scholarship. The check will be made payable to the recipient in his/her name solely and will be presented during the public announcement.
