About The Fair

Hello and welcome to the 104th Vanderburgh County Fair

The county Fair is a week many of us look forward to each year as it is a time to showcase our event. From the many Grandstand shows, 4-H/Open Class shows and activities, carnival rides, and the variety of foods. With our Fair bringing in thousands of guests throughout the week, our theme “Bees, Butterflies and Blooms” will focus on their contributions to the environment.

Below are a few facts:

• Honey bees are super-important pollinators for flowers, fruits and vegetables. This means that they help other plants grow! Bees transfer pollen between the male and female parts, allowing plants to grow seeds and fruit.
• What are these buzzing bugs most famous for? Delicious honey! But did you know they produce honey as food stores for the hive during winter? Luckily for us, these efficient little workers produce 2-3 time more honey than they need, so we get to enjoy the tasty treat, too!
• There are over 18,000 species of butterflies worldwide, showcasing a spectacular variety of colors, sizes, and shapes.
• Butterflies play an essential role in pollinating flowers, helping plants reproduce and contributing to the biodiversity of ecosystems.

This year’s theme will help us achieve our mission to Educate, Exhibit, and Entertain. We hope everyone enjoys the Vanderburgh County Fair and learns something new that will help each of us in living better, more productive lives.
