  • Rules & Regulations

    • No health certificate is required to exhibit Indiana poultry. However, all Indiana fowl exhibited must originate from National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) approved flocks or hatched from eggs originating from NPIP flocks. Exhibitors shall sign an affidavit that they are originated from an NPIP approved flock, or the birds must have had a negative pullorum-typhoid test within 90 days of going to public exhibition. Open class only: a .50 fee will be charged for on-site testing.

    • Exhibitor is permitted one entry in each class.

    • One entry per pen (unless space is limited).

    • Exhibitor must furnish food.

    • A champion will be selected in each breed.

    • A Grand Champion will be selected in each group: American Breeds - Mediterranean Breeds - Asiatic Breeds - English Breeds - Cross Breeds (Sex Linked) - All Other Breeds - Bantams - Waterfowl - Turkey

    - Guinea Fowl - Pigeons - Game Birds

    • Any 4-Her entering Open Class must designate choice of entry (from 4-H entries) with leg band number. 4-H members may have one free entry.

    • Entry fee of $1.00 per entry

    • The proper permits must be shown for the exhibition of wild birds.

  • Rules & Regulations

    • Animals must be checked by superintendent or an assistant prior to unloading.

    • Each exhibitor and helper(s) must pay to enter the fairgrounds.

    • All trailers carrying dairy cattle must enter through gate two.

    • All animals must be purebred and in show condition.

    • The exact birthdate of the animal must be known to identify class entry.

    • The entry fee is $10 per class entry.

    • Entry forms must be received by 10:00pm on July 16, 2025. Entries postmarked after July 16 must pay $20 per class entry. NO EXCEPTIONS. Mail entries to: Rick & Tracy Adler 9200 Schmitt Rd. Haubstadt, IN 47639. Checks should be made payable to the Vanderburgh County Fair Association.

    • 4-H Showmanship will be Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 7:00pm. Please specify on entry form if you are going to show in showmanship, especially pre 4-H.

    • 4-H/Open Dairy Show will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 9:00am.

    • 4-H animals must be on the fairgrounds by noon on Monday, July 22nd. NO EXCEPTIONS

  • Rules & Regulations

    • Registration is from 2 to 4pm

    • Show begins at 5:30pm

    • Entry Fee is $20 per animal. Exhibitors must be ages 4-21 as of show day.

    • Showmanship is $5.

    • All animals must be in show condition.

    • Breeding animals will be shown as commercial if papers are not in hand.

    • Market animals will be entered and shown by weight.

    • No bedding allowed in parking lot. All bedding must be picked up.

    • Limited barn space, showing off trailers encouraged.

    • Dairy Steers are to be full bloody dairy animal. NO beef cross.

    • Showmanship jackpot $5 entry - winner take all.

    • Show order is subject to change as deemed necessary by the superintendent.

    • Food on site benefits Jr. Leaders.

  • Rules & Regulations

    1. All rabbits must be pure bred. No cross breeds will be accepted.

    2. Breeds with 12 or more entries will be judged as an individual breed.

    3. All other breeds will be judged together as ‘All Other Breeds.’

    4. A registration fee of $2.50 will be charged for each rabbit if entry is received by July 11. Late entries will be $3.00 each. Each 4-H member who showed in the 4-H show will be allowed one animal without paying the registration fee but must pay for any additional rabbits.

    5. All exhibitors who have not purchased a season fair pass will have to pay $10.00 single admission at the gate.

    6. The Open Class Rabbit Show will take place on Tuesday, July 22. Registration will start at 3pm. Judging will begin at 4pm

    7. BOB and BOS will be selected in each breed shown with 12 or more anfid AOB.

    8. Best in Show will be picked over all rabbits entered.

    9. Trophies will be awarded to BOB, BOS and Best in Show and Best Meat Pen. Ribbons will be awarded to 5th place.

    10. No breeds will be sanctioned.

    11. Each rabbit may be entered in only one class.

    12. Premiums, ribbons, and trophies will be awarded the day of show.

    13. Premiums will be as follows:

    1st Place: $7.00 

    2nd Place: $6.00

    3rd Place: $5.00 

    4th Place: $4.00

    5th Place: $3.00

    14. Class in each breed with 12 or more entries and AOB will be:

    A. Sr. Buck C. Jr. Buck

    B. Sr. Doe D. Jr. Doe

    15. There will be a meat pen class with all breeds being judged together. Maximum weight per rabbit is 5lbs.

    16. This is a carrying case show. Rabbits also entered in the 4-H show may be left in gages.

    17. Rabbits do not have to be permanently embarked, however if rabbit has earmark, those numbers will be used. All others will be marked with a magic marker.

    18. No rabbits may be sold in small animal barn during the fair.

  • Rules & Regulations

    • Market Lambs will show by breed and weight as of day of show.

    ○ Exhibitor will declare weight day of show; Scale available onsite.

    • Breeding classes will show alphabetically by age.

    ○ Yearlings: 1 year and under 2

    • ○ Lambs: born after Sept 1, 2024

    • Class breakdowns will be determined by the number of entries.

    ○ Must have 2 entries to make a breed in Market Lambs, Rams, and Breeding Ewes respectively.

    • Ewe Lambs can be shown as either Market Lambs or Breeding Ewes, not both.

    • Showmanship Divisions (grade completed)

    ○ PeeWee (2nd grade and under)

    ○ Novice (3rd - 5th grade)

    ○ Junior (6th - 8th grade)

    ○ Intermediate (9th - 12th grade)

    ○ Senior (up to 21 years old)

    • (Non 4-Hers) Show from Trailer; Generators Recommended

    • No age limit for exhibitors

    • Premise ID number required for in-state animals; VALID health papers required for out-of-state animals.

  • Rules & Regulations

    • Exhibitors must turn in expected entries 5 days prior to the show. Entry fees due 5 days prior to the show and are $10 per animal.

    • Please make payments to Vanderburgh County Fair Association.

    • Each exhibitor is limited to two entries in each single class and one entry in each group class.

    • Animals deemed by the judge not to be in show condition will be excluded from the show ring.

    • No bucks will be shown. If nursing, (2 months and under) animal may attend with mother being shown.

    • Pygmy goats will be allowed to have horns.

    • The judge is not required to give first place if no animal is found to be worthy.

    • All goats must be tattooed and listed on a state health certificate.

    • All goats must have a collar and tie rope available.

    • Exhibitors are not required to wear white clothing for the show.

    • Vanderburgh County 4Hers and future 4-Hers get 1 free class entry and free showmanship entry.

  • Rules & Regulations

    • The Vanderburgh County open dairy goat show will be a non-sanctioned event.

    • All animals must be pure bred dairy goats or dairy breed cross but are not required to be registered.

    • The open show will run with the 4-H show.

    • Check-in will be from 8 – 11:30 a.m. day of the show.

    • All animals must be checked-in and inspected by a superintendent before unloading.

    • Any animal showing illness/ poor condition upon check-in, may be asked not to be shown and kept on truck/ trailer.
